Our House Composers - James McFadyen

James McFadyen
Born on 12th June 1980, Scotsman James now lives in Manchester with his wife, Naomi.

Although James is a Brass Band composer to trade, he also produces dance and electronic music and composes works for Orchestra and various instrumental ensembles.

James also studied Electrical Engineering and continued his studies in Music and Audio Production. He studied Composition at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama under Scottish composer, Ross Campbell.

In addition to composition, James writes articles for several popular Brass websites.

James is a keen Soprano Cornet player and he enjoys a healthy banding lifestyle. James plays for Eccles Borough Band.

James has been influenced by many composers including Philip Sparke, Stravinsky, John Adams, Michael Torke and Steve Reich.
