Our House Composers - Patrick Bouchard

Patrick Bouchard BMus, MA
Patrick brings a wealth of experience and education with him as one of Devilish Publishing's 2007 signings.

If you saw the movie "Mr. Holland's Opus" you'd get a pretty good idea of Patrick and his career in music and the love he has for his job.

He doesn't know what he loves more: teaching high school music or writing music. One is very public and socially important and the other has always been a private artistic endeavour for him.

His first public performances were back in the 60's when he played drums in a rock-n-roll band. Then he became a symphony percussionist and drummer/keyboardist and gigged around the San Francisco Bay Area. After completing a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance and a Masters Degree in Music Composition and Theory, he got married to a wonderful woman, and started looking for a job.

Just like Mr. Holland he thought he'd try teaching public school for a while. 28 years later he still teaches in public school, married to that same wonderful lady and have a beautiful 19 year old daughter in college.

Currently working on a style of music that combines processed orchestral and electronic sounds.

Patrick comments, "Creating music is one of the great joys in my life. It's not just for fun and it's not always fun. But for me it's a necessity like breathing. Love, Life, Music- all synonyms. I just made that up. Hope you enjoy my tunes."
